SUMMARY
Forest fires are
very frequent in Cantabria (Northern Spain). They affect all types of
vegetation cover producing large environmental damages and situations of
risk for all the concerned people. Nevertheless, their temporal
distribution seems not to be related with the main bioclimatic cycles
but the combination of particular meteorological situations and the
calendar of traditional rural practices. |
